Tokyo airport transfer time to be cut

Japan's National Tourist Organisation has announced that, from 2010, international visitors will benefit from quicker transfers between Narita international airport and central Tokyo.
The Keisei Skyliner, which is currently the main method of transport between the airport and city along with the Narita Express, will shorten its travel time to just over 30 minutes in 2010.
This reduction of around 15 minutes in the journey time will be made possible by the use of new rail cars, which will run at around 160km/h on high-speed tracks.
With the exception of the Shinkansen bullet train network, these tracks will be the fastest in Japan.
In another development for passengers, a new terminal is scheduled to open in Nippori, about ten minutes from Tokyo station, to offer even more convenient access.
The improvements will not be all about speed, however, as Keisei Railway has asked Kansai Yamamoto, one of Japan's most famous fashion designers, for his opinions on how to improve the trains' appearance, luggage space, comfort and functionality.
