US Airways has announced that it will boost its number of transatlantic destinations to 23 next year when it launches new flights to Birmingham in England and Oslo in Norway.
Birmingham will be
US Airways' fifth destination in the UK and Ireland, joining London, Manchester, Shannon and Dublin, while Oslo will be the carrier's second Scandinavian flight location after Stockholm in Sweden.
Both routes will be operated from the airline's hub in Philadelphia and will complement its new service to Tel Aviv in Israel, which was announced earlier this year.
Suzanne Boda,
US Airways' east coast vice president of international operations, said: 'We're thrilled to expand our presence in the UK with Birmingham and offer our customers their first Norwegian option in Oslo.
'We appreciate the support of Birmingham and Oslo officials, as well as the continued support and commitment of the Philadelphia City Division of Aviation.'
The new flights, which travellers can book from 25 October, will operate on a daily basis to Birmingham from 12 May and to Oslo from 21 May.
