A brand new terminal extension at Glasgow Airport has opened to the public for the first time.
Up to 250 new jobs have been created by the extension, which sees a new Weatherspoon's pub, Starbucks and a general shop.
Amanda McMillan, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said: 'Security is our number one priority and we have invested heavily to build one of the largest security search areas in the UK.'
She added that among the new technology used by the airport was an X-ray device which she hoped would 'speed passengers safely through the airport'.
In total there is a £200 million pound investment going into the Scottish airport which it is hoped will see improvements over the next ten years.
Some of the destinations served by Glasgow include the likes of New York, Orlando, Dubai and the Indian city of Lahore, as well as nearly all UK and major European airports.
