Skiers and snowboarders will soon be heading to Canada following the announcement that some resorts are already open in the province of Alberta, with more due to open soon.
Travel Alberta confirmed that Mount Norquay and Lake Louise opened on 8 November, presenting visitors with the earliest snow in Canada.
Mount Norquay is offering access at weekends only until the resort is fully opened on 5 December.
The ski slopes at the nearby Sunshine Village are due to open today (14 November), completing the Banff-Lake Louise trio of resorts.
Further north, the town of Jasper has seen heavy snow and is set to open the Marmot Basin slopes on 15 November, while Nakiska and Castle Mountain are scheduled to begin welcoming visitors on 6 and 13 December respectively.
One of the easiest ways to reach Alberta is by taking flights to its capital, Calgary, which is served by airlines including
