The Brittany tourist board has published a list of the five best gardens for holidaymakers to see during their spring and summer visits to the province.
One of the most interesting attractions, the Roscoff Exotic Garden, benefits from a coastal location as the Gulf Stream sea current enables the 3,000 species of tropical plant to bloom for longer than they would inland.
Visitors to the garden can also see waterfalls, ornamental lakes, rock gardens and a view over the bay of Morlaix.
Located nearby is the Georges Delaselle Garden in Ile de Batz, which boasts a palm grove display featuring a rare collection of palm trees.
The Haute-Bretagne Ille-et-Villaine area of Brittany boasts two gardens Broceliande, which is famous for its iris collections and its dahlia maze, and Montmarin, which is home to a chateau, parks and gardens that are all historic national monuments.
In La Gacilly, holidaymakers can head to the Yves Rocher Botanical Garden for a close look at more than 1,100 plant species and a visit to the Museum of Plant Life.
