Finnair serving up festive food

15 Dec 2008

Scandinavian airline Finnair will be serving Christmas menus on all European flights and in business class on intercontinental flights over the festive period.

The seasonal fare will be on offer between 12 and 25 December and will be served by staff wearing a bright red scarf or tie to add to the festive atmosphere.

Options for economy passengers on European flights include a warm Christmas meal for lunch and dinner on Airbus flights lasting more than two hours.

Business class travellers on services departing from Helsinki will be served salmon with horseradish sauce for a starter and roast turkey fillet with gingerbread sauce and Swedish turnip rosti for the main course.

Corporate customers on intercontinental flights will receive the added bonus of a traditional glogg – the Nordic form of mulled wine – with gingerbread cookies.

People travelling to and from Helsinki-Vantaa airport during the Christmas period will be entertained by a number of music groups and may also be greeted by Santa Claus and his helpers, who frequently visit the airport.
