The suspension bridge at Tsitsikamma national park, one of the South African park's most popular tourist attractions, was reopened last week.
Located at the Storms river mouth area, the bridge began hosting tourists again on 19 December, which park manager Darren Claasen described as 'a great bonus for visitors'.
'In addition, the new tourism boat will also start operating from today,' Mr Claasen added. 'The previous one was damaged during the high seas we experienced in September and as a result could also not offer tourist boat trips.
'I am very happy that both these activities will be available to the public once again.'
The park's regional manager Mvusy Songelwa also reported that work on a circular route that will include three new bridges is still in progress and could be complete by April 2009.
Tsitsikamma national park is part of the Garden Route, a scenic stretch of the southern coast of South Africa that extends from Mossel Bay to the Storms river in the Western Cape province.
