Ski weekends 'proving popular this winter'

Weekend skiing trips in Europe have been popular this season as winter sports travellers have been reluctant to miss out on some of the best conditions in years, according to figures released by easyJet.
The airline revealed that it has seen an increase of more than 16% in passengers flying from the UK to Alpine destinations in France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria.
Innsbruck, Grenoble and Geneva are among the most popular flight destinations, with short journey times from the UK and easy access to some of the continent's biggest resorts.
Paul Simmons, UK general manager of easyJet, said: 'Early last year as the credit crunch began we noticed that ski weekends became popular, even though the snowfall wasn't as good.
'This year we've really seen a jump in weekend flights with people wanting to hit the slopes quickly and cheaply.'
The Ski Club of Great Britain reported heavy snowfall last week in the Austrian resorts of Mayrhofen and Obergurgl, while conditions in the French Pyrenees were so extreme that ski lifts were buried under snow.
