New Dubai marketing campaign launched

9 Mar 2009

A new campaign has been launched to promote Dubai as a holiday destination to travellers all over the world.

Set to cost around 50 million dirhams (£9.9m), the initiative will include collaboration between the airline Emirates, the Dubai tourism and commerce marketing department and hoteliers across the city.

Various tourism products will be promoted through the advertising drive, including flights, accommodation, meals and tours.

Under the banner of 'Keep discovering Dubai', the campaign will see more than 2,000 travel industry members from around the world invited to the destination between March and May for a 'familiarisation trip'.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates, said: 'Dubai is an exhilarating, dynamic and constantly evolving destination. The city's rise to international prominence in a mere 40 years is staggering and Emirates is proud to be a part of Dubai's achievements.

'Dubai is the home and heart of Emirates and we are committed to further extending our global reach to connect ever more travellers to our city.'

Emirates expanded its presence in Australasia last month when it operated the world's first A380 commercial service from Dubai to Sydney, Australia and on to Auckland, New Zealand.
