The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has said that it is 'committed' to building an international cruise terminal in the south-east Asian state.
Plans for the new cruise hub in Singapore will be unveiled at the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention, which is currently taking place in Miami.
Chew Tiong Heng, the STB's destination marketing and cruise director, said the terminal will have a nautical theme that will provide a 'natural complement' for its function and setting.
He added: 'We believe that the terminal's rooftop depicting a modern interpretation of low rolling waves will provide a very welcoming sight to passengers as their cruise ship sails into Singapore.'
Plans for the new hub follow the announcement last year that a new international cruise terminal will be built at Marina South in Singapore, doubling its current cruise handling capacity.
The STB recently announced the completion of the Orchard Road redevelopment project, which is part of a major urban renewal scheme in Singapore.
