Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White will be travelling on the P&O Cruises ship Ventura throughout the year, it has been announced.
The Hell's Kitchen star will hold private cookery sessions with groups of up to eight adults and children in one of the ship's galleys, each time creating a three-course meal for passengers to try.
Mr Pierre White said he is participating in the initiative to pass on his knowledge and passion for food.
He added: 'Passengers will have the chance to get involved with the thought process behind the construction of the dishes I produce as well as getting to taste the finished article.
'These private cooking sessions are a first for me and I can't wait to get on board to start cooking.'
Ventura was launched in April 2008 and boasts Mr Pierre White's first restaurant at sea, the White Room.
P&O Cruises will launch its new ship Azura in spring 2010 on Mediterranean itineraries before the ship moves to the Caribbean in the autumn.
