17 Apr 2009

Royal Caribbean has announced some of the cruises it will be operating in the Caribbean region in the 2010-11 sailing season.

The line will base five of what it describes as 'the world's most innovative cruise ships' in the Caribbean, which will offer a total of 243 sailings on 14 itineraries, taking in some 25 ports.

Highlights of the programme will include an expansion for Serenade of the Seas from a seasonal to a year-round service at San Juan, Puerto Rico, while both Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas will offer regular voyages from Florida.

Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas will both operate from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.

Collectively, Royal Caribbean's fleet will provide a season of cruises that will include calls in Barbados, Cozumel, Jamaica and Haiti.

Travellers planning to set off on a cruise from the United States next year will also have the option of Celebrity Cruises' Alaska itineraries from May to September, with departures from ports including San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.
