EasyJet serves up Starbucks coffee

21 Apr 2009

EasyJet has announced that it will begin serving Starbucks VIA Ready Brew coffee on its flights from Newcastle, Stansted, Gatwick and Madrid from 1 May.

The airline described this particular brand of beverage as a naturally roasted coffee with no by-products that gives drinkers 'the rich flavour they expect from brewed Starbucks coffee in an instant'.

Rob Pickering, easyJet's inflight category manager, described the offering as a 'significant step forward' in the carrier's product range.

He added: 'By serving Starbucks onboard, our passengers will never need to be without great coffee or hot drinks.'

Starbucks spokesman Rupert Lawrie said: 'Offering Starbucks VIA Ready Brew to easyJet passengers provides us with a great opportunity to ensure new and existing Starbucks customers get the chance to experience high quality coffee in an instant.'

From its UK bases of Newcastle, Stansted and Gatwick, easyJet operates a network of European flights that includes connections to Barcelona, Paris, Rome and Helsinki.
