Spanish restaurant retains 'world's best' status

El Bulli in Roses, north-east Spain has retained its position at the top of the San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list this year.
The establishment took top spot in the ranking ahead of The Fat Duck in Bray, Berkshire, which is owned by celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal.
Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark was rated the world's third best restaurant in this year's list, while Mugaritz and El Celler de Can Roca, both of which are in Spain, completed the top five.
Two dining establishments in France featured in the top ten - Bras in the Auvergne region and Paris' Pierre Gagnaire restaurant.
The United States is also home to two of the world's ten best restaurants, according to the San Pellegrino list - Per Se in New York City and Alinea in Chicago.
Other properties to feature in the top 20 include Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, Tetsuya's in Sydney, Australia and Les Creations de Narisawa in Tokyo, Japan.
