Whale watching season to get underway in Iceland

Icelandair has looked forward to the whale watching season in Iceland, which will begin in May.
The airline described the north Atlantic waters surrounding Iceland, in which visitors will be able to see various species of whale and other animals, as 'one of the most spectacular settings on earth'.
Whale watching cruises are available from the capital city of Reykjavik to the scenic Faxafloi Bay, where travellers will be able to see minke and humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins and possibly even orcas.
The sea tours also pass by Puffin Island, which provides a habitat for hundreds of the seabirds after which it is named.
Iceland also boasts plenty of natural attractions on land, including glaciers, geysers, waterfalls and volcanic beaches.
Icelandair offers flights to Reykjavik from London Heathrow, Glasgow and Manchester.
Travellers planning to extend their trip after visiting the Icelandic capital can catch connecting flights with the airline to destinations including Toronto, New York, Orlando and Seattle.
