Spinal Tap to rock Wembley

24 Apr 2009

Fans of the much-loved comedy film This is Spinal Tap and the spoof glam rock band that featured in it will be heading to London in June to see the group live in concert.

Spinal Tap will be reuniting for a 'one night only world tour' at Wembley Arena on 30 June.

Nigel Tufnel, David St Hubbins and Derek Smalls - in reality the actors Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer - will be rocking out at the gig with support from the Folksmen.

Looking forward to the concert, St Hubbins said: 'This show will be dedicated to all of our drummers who have passed on, either to their reward or to middle management at Sainsbury's.'

The mock-documentary This is Spinal Tap was released in 1984 and featured a number of glam rock send-ups performed by the band, including Gimme Some Money, Stonehenge and Big Bottom.

People visiting London over the coming months will be able to head to Wembley Arena to see other shows including a gig by BB King and John Mayall on 28 June.
