Flybe confirms new Gatwick to Guernsey flight

Flybe has confirmed its 'continued commitment' to Guernsey by announcing an extra weekday service to the island from London Gatwick.
The carrier will operate an extra summer flight to the destination from 29 June, bringing the total number of return services from London to Guernsey to six a day during the week.
Travellers will be able to take advantage of extra seasonal access to the island while the government 'continues to drag its feet' over an airport expansion that would enable an increase in capacity, Flybe said.
Mike Rutter, the airline's chief commercial officer, commented: 'Historically, airline after airline have abandoned their services to the Channel Islands, but Flybe's bucking that trend with this additional rotation.
'We remain committed to providing affordability and flexibility for Channel Islands travellers and, with six rotations now on this popular route, offer the perfect choice for leisure and business travellers alike.'
Flybe now operates nine of the 12 domestic routes out of London Gatwick. In June this year, it will launch a new service linking the London hub to Leeds Bradford airport in Yorkshire.
