London to host new Peter Pan production

28 Apr 2009

Visitors to London will be offered a new theatrical experience from next month when a production of Peter Pan using state-of-the-art technology opens in the city.

The show will be presented in a high-tech outdoor theatre pavilion in Kensington Gardens from 26 May to 30 August.

JM Barrie's classic tale of the boy who never grew up will be given a new lease of life by the production, which will feature a 360-degree projected scenic design.

Visitors will be able to take a Royal Parks Peter Pan tour before heading to the 1,000-seat pavilion to see the show, which will use computer-generated imagery to create a unique theatrical experience.

Award-winning theatre designer William Dudley developed the idea for the new adaptation of Peter Pan, while the cast includes Ciaran Kellgren in the title role and Abby Ford as Wendy Darling.

Visitors to London will also be able to enjoy some unusual stage shows this summer by heading to Regent's Park, which will present its Open Air Theatre season from 25 May to 12 September.
