Czech Republic looks forward to summer of music

5 May 2009

The national tourist board of the Czech Republic has informed travellers of the number of live music events they will be able to see in the country this year.

First up will be a performance by American metal band Limp Bizkit, who will be playing in their original line-up at the O2 Arena in Prague on 18 June.

Another rock and roller from the United States, Lenny Kravitz, will bring his tour to the Czech Republic when he plays in Brno on 19 June, before Motorhead fly the flag for Britain in the same destination on 4 July.

Arguably the most acclaimed musician to visit the central European country this year will be blues legend BB King, who will play in Prague on 15 July as part of an international tour.

The focus will then turn to pop when Madonna comes to the Czech capital on 13 August - playing in the city for the second time in three years - followed by the great Radiohead, who will give a live show at Prague's Exhibition Grounds on 23 August.

Earlier this year, the Czech tourist board encouraged travellers to enjoy a 'fairytale experience' by visiting one of the country's ancient castles.
