Barcelona to host Poble Espanyol concert season

8 May 2009

Visitors to Barcelona will have plenty of live musical entertainment to enjoy this year when the city's Poble Espanyol attraction hosts its summer concert season.

Former Supertramp member Roger Hodgson will get the series of shows underway when he plays on 1 July, performing in Barcelona for the first time.

Jazz artist George Benson will provide the live music on 5 July before pop rock group Amaral take to the stage on 10 July.

The highlights of the Poble Espanyol concert season for many will come later in the month when 1980s icon Cyndi Lauper performs in Barcelona for the first time on 21 July.

Jeff Beck, former guitarist with the Yardbirds, will then bring the season to an end on 22 July when he performs material from his new album Performing this Week: Live at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club.

The Poble Espanyol is a popular Barcelona attraction throughout the year, primarily serving as an open-air architectural museum that represents the style and culture of different regions across Spain.
