Eurostar unveils new first class layout

11 May 2009

Eurostar has unveiled the new look and feel of its Leisure Select brand - the first class accommodation product on offer to its leisure travellers.

The high-speed rail operator said that it had decided upon 'rich and colourful' imagery for the interior of its first class accommodation, as well as pictures of cafes, restaurants and other cultural hotspots in London, Paris and Brussels.

It is hoped that the design revamp will lead to more people treating themselves to a first class journey from London to Paris, Brussels or the Disneyland Resort.

The upgraded accommodation will also be available on Eurostar's direct service from London to Avignon in Provence during the summer.

Simon Montague, the rail operator's director of communications, said: 'Our research shows that travellers love Leisure Select.

'The new branding will help them discover more about their destinations, as well as better defining this ultimate leisure product that means a holiday begins as soon as you get on board.'

Eurostar released figures last month which showed that it carried 1.92m passengers in the first quarter of 2009 and generated sales of £168.1m.
