Holidaymakers visiting Le Mans in the Pays de la Loire region of France this summer will be offered a host of free and unusual entertainment.
Every evening from 27 June to 29 August, the spectacle of La Nuit des Chimeres will be presented in Le Mans, featuring film displays and projections on some of the city's ancient walls and buttresses.
Each exhibition will explore a different part of Le Mans' history, depicting such fascinating scenes as battles between good and evil featuring mythical creatures and angels.
Saint Julien cathedral will be the site of a projection showing dragons, demons and other terrible creatures being consumed in the flames of hell.
Friendly spirits and gargoyles are used to light the paths between the sites, meaning that visitors can combine the shows with an evening stroll through the cobbled streets of Le Mans.
The Pays de la Loire region of France is accessible via new daily flights from London City airport to Nantes with
Air France, operated by CityJet and
VLM Airlines.
