The cultural appeal of the city of Munich in Germany will be boosted this month by the opening of the Museum Brandhorst.
Officially opening its doors on 21 May, the museum will see an influx of visitors in its first few days as it offers free admission up to 24 May.
People will be heading to the museum to explore the Brandhorst collection, which was amassed by Udo and Anette Brandhorst and comprises more than 700 artworks.
Highlights include over 100 original editions of books illustrated by Pablo Picasso, works on paper by Joan Miro and other pieces by artists including Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The Museum Brandhorst is part of Kunstareal Munich, a complex of museums and galleries that also includes the Pinakothek institutions and Glyptothek.
