InterContinental Bangkok gets new look

26 May 2009

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the completion of an 890m baht (£16.2m) refurbishment at its property in Bangkok, Thailand.

The establishment now boasts several new features, including a redesigned entrance driveway and a crystal chandelier in the lobby.

A new lounge has been opened next to the lobby, offering views of one of Bangkok's liveliest districts. The redevelopment has also led to the opening of the Grossi Trattoria and Wine Bar.

Many of the hotel's guest rooms and suites have also been redesigned, including the Club InterContinental lounge on the 37th floor, which provides impressive views across Bangkok.

Markus Platzer, general manager of InterContinental Bangkok, said: 'Amid all the changes, two aspects remain constant: every associate's commitment towards giving of gracious and excellent service and sharing their local knowledge with guests.

'With the refurbishment, the hotel retains its status as one of IHG's flagship InterContinental hotels in the south-east Asian region.'

IHG will also be expanding its presence in the Asia Pacific this year when it opens a new resort in Fiji on 1 June.
