London 'a unique destination'

A spokesperson for Visit London has described the English capital as a 'unique' tourist destination.
According to Jacqueline French, senior PR manager for the tourism agency, London is special as a holiday destination because its attractions are so diverse.
She pointed out that travellers come to the city to see the views from the London Eye as much as to learn about history and experience arts and culture.
'What makes London a unique destination is we have all of those things here,' Ms French said. 'You may come to visit one thing and then you might see something else and it just enhances the whole experience.'
The Visit London spokeswoman also commented on the importance of investment in London's attractions, offering the example of the Monument, which reopened this year following a major refurbishment.
A report that came out of the Best of Britain and Ireland show this year indicated that the London Eye is the UK's most popular tourist attraction, ahead of the Lake District and the Blackpool Tower.
