Travel guides made available for iPhone

DK Eyewitness Travel has made its best-selling Top 10 Travel Guides series available to users of the iPhone and iPod touch.

Digital versions of the guides can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.

The ten destinations covered by the new digital guides are: New York, London, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Paris, Rome, Dubai, Barcelona, Cancun and Bangkok.

Each application covers sights to see, places to eat, shopping destinations and cultural attractions. The guides also include currency converters and other useful tools.

Tom Hall, head of digital licensing for DK Publishing, said: 'We are delighted to be launching DK's Top 10 guides for iPhone and iPod touch users.

'The series is hugely successful in print, and the clear, structured format of its content lends itself perfectly to digital platforms in this manner.'

The Apple App Store provides a number of travel applications for iPhone and iPod touch users, including a live flight status tracker, a translator and a guide to the Paris Metro system.
