New hotels opening in Africa

Accommodation options will be improved for people travelling in Africa this year with the opening of three new InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) properties, two in South Africa and three in Kenya.
The 318-room Crowne Plaza Johannesburg - The Rosebank represents the return of the hotel brand in South Africa following an absence of two years.
Another IHG property that has opened its doors in South Africa is the 304-room Holiday Inn Express Sunnypark in Pretoria, which is part of the global relaunch of the Holiday Inn brand.
In the autumn, the hotel chain will begin welcoming guests at the Crowne Plaza Nairobi, its second Crowne Plaza hotel in Kenya.
John Bamsey, IHG's chief operating officer in the Middle East and Africa, said: 'We will be developing our Africa portfolio with more than 30 properties over the next three to five years and these will all be in prime locations and high-growth cities.
'This will strengthen our position of becoming the leading operator on the continent and to contribute significantly to IHG's overall portfolio.'
Other African countries that will see new IHG properties opening over the coming years include Angola, Nigeria, Tanzania and Senegal.
