London value message 'getting through to Europe'

London value message 'getting through to Europe'

The marketing message that the weak pound is offering good value to foreign visitors this year is reportedly being received loud and clear in Europe.

Mary Rance, chief executive of UKinbound, said that there has been an increase in the number of European visitors to London so far this year as a result of promotional efforts.

One area that needs more work, however, is the American market, where the message of good value is yet to get through, Ms Rance said.

'The European message is getting through and we have seen quite an influx of Europeans coming to London,' the UKinbound boss said. 'They know that there is exceptional value for them at the moment and they are coming for shorter times and spending money.

'With the US, that message isn't getting through as well and it is a question of keeping that marketing message going.'

One of the initiatives that has been launched this year is Visit London's 'Only in London' campaign, which highlights the unique sights, activities and experiences on offer in the capital.
