The picturesque Provence region in southern France could prove a popular holiday destination with music fans next month as it hosts the Festival de Nimes.
Running throughout the month of July, the festival will bring some major names from contemporary pop and rock music to the historic city of Nimes' Roman arena.
The festival will get underway with performances by American metal gods Metallica on 7 July and American singer Jason Mraz on 9 July.
Following a short break in the programme, British bands the Ting Tings and Franz Ferdinand will resume the musical entertainment on 21 July before Seal takes to the stage the following evening.
Dance music fans will have the chance to see the Prodigy at the Arenes de Nimes on 23 July, while Nine Inch Nails will bring the festival to a close on 28 July.
As well as enjoying live music, holidaymakers visiting Nimes next month will be able to explore the historic city to see sights such as the Maison Carree monument.
