British Airways has announced further changes to its 2009-10 winter network, with extra flights to Warsaw, Poland and Istanbul, Turkey set to be launched.

From 25 October, the airline will increase its frequency from London Heathrow to both of these destinations from two to three flights a day.

It was also confirmed that British Airways will increase its number of flights to Rome from five to six a day from Heathrow for the winter, while frequency from Gatwick to the Italian capital will be reduced to a single daily service.

Richard Tams, the airline's head of UK and Ireland sales, said: 'We're pleased to be offering increased frequencies to these European destinations.

'It's in response to demand and the additional flights to Warsaw have been timed to make it easier for our customers to connect to our long-haul operation.'

As well as expanding its European network, British Airways will be boosting its presence in the Caribbean this winter with extra flights to Barbados, St Lucia and Port of Spain.
