New golf course opened in Muscat

Sports enthusiasts visiting the city of Muscat in Oman this year can now make use of a new PGA-certified golf course in the city.
Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club, which is the capital's first golf course, was laid out by internationally acclaimed designer Paul Thomas.
The 18-hole championship course is set in natural mountainous surroundings and has fairways that run close to the centre of Muscat.
Visitors can also make use of a state-of-the-art clubhouse, leisure facilities and a sporting goods store at the course, with a boutique hotel, apartments and villas set to be added in the future.
The Oman tourist board said that the complex 'adds a further dimension to Muscat as a leisure and business destination'.
With more than 3,000km of coastline, Oman boasts many locations for holidaymakers to go scuba diving, as well as deserts for off-road driving and rivers for kayaking.
Flights to Muscat are provided by Oman Air, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and other carriers.
