Noisy kids 'biggest irritation for fliers'

There is nothing that irritates travellers more than being stuck on a plane with screaming children, according to the results of a poll carried out by Holiday Extras.
The travel add-ons company surveyed more than 500 people online and found that over a third (35%) see noisy and unruly kids as their biggest annoyance.
People who board the plane late attracted the ire of 20% of the respondents to the poll, while 15% said the thing that bothers them most is passengers who take up too much space.
A number of other gripes were uncovered by the research, including people who use up all the space in the overhead cabin and passengers who cough constantly or eat noisily.
Mike Whiting, managing editor of Holiday Extras, said: 'We can all get stressed when flying, but maybe we should have a bit of sympathy for those poor parents struggling to cope with young children.'
According to research released last month by the company, British holidaymakers have become fairly fearless with regards to travelling, with over three quarters saying that they have no concerns about flying or spending time waiting at the airport.
