Eurostar to put ski services on sale
6 Jul 2009

Winter sports enthusiasts already looking forward to their skiing holidays will soon be able to book rail journeys to the French Alps with Eurostar.

The company announced that its services to French skiing hotspots from London St Pancras and Ashford will go on sale tomorrow (7 July).

Eurostar will offer two weekly journeys to Moutiers, Aime-La-Plagne and St Maurice, with the first day service scheduled for 19 December and the first night-time link set to operate on 1 January 2010.

The final destinations in France offer access to some of Europe's top ski destinations, including Courchevel, Tignes, Meribel and Les Arcs.

Simon Montague, director of communications for Eurostar, said: 'In these tough economic times, it is important to offer even greater value for travellers. Our return fares start from £149, down from £179 last year, and are all-inclusive.'

He added: 'Travel to resorts located in Switzerland will also be available on Eurostar, thanks to onwards connections in Paris. These will be available later in the year, in line with the booking horizon of train operators on the continent.'

The high-speed rail operator announced recently that it was introducing single fares from London to Paris and Brussels starting from £35.
