Travellers urged to see Croatia in autumn

Travellers urged to see Croatia in autumn
10 Jul 2009

Travellers planning a European break this year have been encouraged to pay a visit to Croatia in September or October.

The early autumn months are the only time that travellers can see Dalmatia 'in its full beauty', according to Visnja Arambasesc, editor of the In Your Pocket guide to Croatia.

Covering the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, the Dalmatia region is chiefly located in Croatia but also encompasses the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, another increasingly popular destination.

The best reason to visit the area during the early autumn months is its pleasant climate, combined with some good cultural offerings, according to Ms Arambasesc.

'The weather is most pleasant during the period of Indian summer - the sea still has a good temperature, it's not so hot during the day and still there are quite a lot of cultural happenings,' she said.

Travellers interested in visiting Dalmatia can catch flights to Dubrovnik, Split and other cities in the region with carriers including British Airways, easyJet and Croatia Airlines.
