Travellers catching flights to Dubai this year can pay a visit to a new tourist information centre that has been opened at the emirate's airport.

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing opened the bureau as part of an initiative to 'provide assistance to visitors in exploring the emirate during their business tours and leisure holidays'.

Holidaymakers can visit the desk to find out about Dubai's tourist attractions and facilities, events taking place in the region, entertainment programmes, shopping promotions and other subjects.

The new centre is one of six located throughout the emirate, with others based in Deira city centre, Ibn Battuta Mall, Wafi City and other sites.

Travellers can make use of a number of other facilities at Dubai airport, including a car hire desk, a duty-free shopping mall and hotels.

Several international airlines offer flights to Dubai, including Emirates, Air France, Virgin Atlantic and Lufthansa.
