The Singapore Tourism Board has revealed that the city-state is currently 'revving up' for the second night race in the history of Formula 1.
Scheduled for 27 September this year, the Singapore Grand Prix is 'one of the most dramatic and atmospheric races on the F1 calendar', according to the tourism agency.
The 5km street circuit is situated in the Marina Bay district in the heart of downtown Singapore.
As well as the race itself, people visiting the city-state will be able to enjoy fireworks displays, live entertainment, exhibitions and other events over the course of the weekend.
Chooi Yee Choong of the Singapore Tourism Board said: 'We are extremely pleased with the success of the 2008 event and this year we hope it will be even better as we extend the outdoor party atmosphere and activities from trackside and throughout the glittering Marina Bay waterfront precinct into other parts of Singapore.'
Before arriving in Singapore, the Formula 1 World Championship will feature races in Budapest (26 July), Valencia (23 August), Spa-Francorchamps (30 August) and Monza (13 September).
