Star Wars fans can make their dreams come true by booking a cheap flight to Tunisia from Doncaster Robin Hood Airport.

The hit film trilogy was filmed in the country and Thomas Cook Airlines is now offering Star Wars enthusiasts a chance to visit the fictional planet of Tatooine in the north African nation.

For movie buffs who are more inclined towards historical dramas, there is also the option of flying to Tunisia and taking a day trip to the colosseum featured in the Russell Crowe drama Gladiator.

Jodi Stow, marketing and communications manager at Robin Hood Airport, said: 'Countries outside of the eurozone are proving very popular destinations with travellers due to the current economic climate.

'They are only slightly further in terms of flying time than the traditional holiday locations so areas in eastern Europe and north Africa are becoming more popular.'

Other major productions filmed in Tunisia include The English Patient and Jesus of Nazareth.
