The new Canada Line rail link is due to open in Vancouver on 17 August, well in advance of its initially planned launch in November.
Part of the existing monorail system known as the Sky Train, the Canada Line allows travellers to get from Vancouver international airport (YVR) to downtown in around 26 minutes.
The trains stop at three locations in the centre of the city and have a 'modern look and feel', according to Tourism British Columbia (BC).
Kate MacLennan, a spokeswoman for the tourist board, said that Vancouver has needed the Canada Line 'for a long time'.
'We've now got a fast, efficient and economic way for visitors to Vancouver to transfer from YVR into the heart of the city and get around downtown from there.
'It's an absolutely fabulous addition to BC's biggest city and will be a real asset in transporting visitors during the Olympic Games.'
Sports fans will be catching flights to Vancouver with carriers such as
United Airlines and
Air Canada for the 2010 Winter Olympics, which will begin on 12 February.
