Mobile check-in offered by Air Malta
19 Aug 2009
Air Malta has launched mobile phone check-in services for some of its flights.
The airline is rolling out the technology for passengers taking any of the carrier's flights out of Malta International Airport.
Flyers will not be charged for using the new service, which can be accessed up to 23 hours before the scheduled departure time of their flight.
Air Malta said that it has launched its mobile phone check-in application as a result of popular demand.
Chief executive Joe Cappello said: 'Only a few airlines in the world have started to use this technology and we are excited to be one of the first.
'With the introduction of these new facilities and investment in new technologies we are reaffirming our commitment to our passengers by offering them an even easier service at the airport.'
The new service is also open to passengers with baggage, who just need to check-in and then leave their luggage at the drop-off point.
