Anniversary exhibition at Eiffel Tower
17 Sep 2009

Travellers planning a visit to Paris before the end of the year will be able to see a special exhibition at the Eiffel Tower.

Launched to mark the 120th anniversary of the opening of the attraction this year, Tales of the Eiffel Tower will be open until 31 December.

The exhibition, which is based on the first floor and the stairs of the monument, invites visitors to learn about the origins of the tower, its iconic image and the work that goes on behind the scenes.

Hundreds of illustrations, panels, photographs, engravings and screenings are presented as part of the display, along with games and interactive monitors to interest younger visitors.

On the platform overlooking the Champ de Mars, a tent has been installed to house a cinema and a bar during the exhibition.

A giant fireworks display was held in Paris on 14 July this year, better known as Bastille Day in France, to mark the Eiffel Tower's 120th birthday.
