Experience the St Andrews Festival in Scotland
29 Sep 2009

The organisers of this year's St Andrews Festival have announced that the event will 'light up' the final day of Scotland's Homecoming celebrations in November.

Running from 28 to 30 November, the festival will culminate in the celebration of St Andrew's Day.

Visitors can catch flights to Edinburgh or Dundee to visit the town of St Andrews and enjoy medieval, traditional and modern music, a torch-lit procession, a free street ceilidh and the 'Son et Lumiere' sound and light installation.

On St Andrew's Day itself, there will be a fireworks display, a pipe band performance and a ceremony to switch on the town's festive lights.

Festival organiser Rob Murray Brown told VisitScotland: 'We're very pleased with this year's festival line-up and are hoping to delight visitors from across Scotland and beyond with our celebration of Scotland's music, culture and history.

'The Son et Lumiere promises to be stunning and the programme of events is comprehensively of a high standard.'

Homecoming Scotland was launched on 25 January, also known as Burns Night.
