The Chicago and Illinois Tourist Office (CITO) has launched an initiative in Birmingham to encourage local people to pay a visit to the US.
A fleet of ten marked taxis has been sent out onto the streets of Birmingham to offer passengers the opportunity to win a shopping holiday in Chicago, as well as free rides on the first and last days of the campaign.
People based in the city in the West Midlands will see the special cabs driving around between 15 October and 15 November.
Once inside the taxi, passengers will find details on the competition to win a break in downtown Chicago, which can be entered online.
Jan Kostner, deputy director of the CITO, said: 'The Chicago-branded taxis highlight our diverse shopping scene and holiday shopping incentives while giving Brummies a taste of the city on us.
'Through the free rides and complimentary holiday, we will show people why Chicago is the ideal city break.'
Travellers can catch flights to Chicago from Birmingham airport with
Aer Lingus,
Air France,
Continental Airlines and other carriers, which operate via cities including Dublin, Paris and New York.
