Dubai 'a good choice for winter sun seekers'

Travellers planning to enjoy some winter sun over the coming months have been informed that they will find what they are looking for in Dubai.
Dan Linstead, editor of Wanderlust, pointed out that Dubai has been steadily growing in popularity recently and the range of factors in its favour suggests that this trend will continue.
The positive aspects of Dubai as a travel destination include its 'huge amount' of hotel capacity and the quality of the airlines that fly to the Middle East, such as Etihad Airways and Emirates, Mr Linstead said.
'It offers affordable luxury [and] it's a mid-haul flight rather than a long-haul flight,' he added.
'It is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to get a reliable blast of winter sun.'
The Wanderlust editor also commented on the general state of the travel industry during the economic downturn, saying that some people are choosing to spend less time in desirable destinations such as Dubai and Thailand to save money.
