P&O Cruises to offer chocolate treats

P&O Cruises has announced that it will be indulging passengers on its Pacific Jewel ship by opening a dedicated chocolate cafe.

The new addition, which will be the first attraction of its kind on a liner based in Australia, will offer a range of luxurious and unusual treats, including fresh Belgian waffles, cookies, cakes and even chocolate ravioli.

Customers will also be able to visit the cafe to use its internet facilities, allowing them to do some research on the destinations they will be visiting or contact friends and family at home.

P&O Cruises decided to open the eatery to reflect the growing popularity of specialist chocolate outlets in Australia.

Sture Myrmell, the company's vice-president of hotel operations, said that the new cafe is expected to 'go down a treat'.

Pacific Jewel, which is P&O Cruises' newest superliner, will make its debut in Sydney this December.

Other amenities available to passengers on the vessel include the fine-dining restaurant Salt Grill and the more casual eatery La Luna.
