New Australia travel guide released

Lonely Planet has announced the release of its new guide to Australia.
Fifteen authors spent a total of 65 weeks on the road to create a book that 'gets to the heart of Australia's diverse culture and extreme geography', according to Lonely Planet.
One of the aims of the guide, which is the 15th edition in the publisher's Australia series, is to debunk some of the stereotypical views that people have of the country.
Coordinating author Justine Vaisutis revealed that the book also focuses on the unique landscapes and natural features travellers will come across.
'Vulnerable to violent climatic extremes, this savvy landscape learned to manipulate voracious fires, long droughts and desperate floods to carve some of the world's most dramatic terrain,' she said.
'These origins, harsh, resilient and beautiful, remain emblematic of the diversity of life Australia has created ever since.'
Readers will also be able to learn about the distinctive characters of the country's big cities, such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
