Royal Air Maroc has launched new flights to Casablanca, a move that was welcomed by the Moroccan National Tourist Office.

The airline introduced the service on 22 November and will offer three non-stop flights to the city from London Gatwick on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.

From summer 2010, frequency will be increased to provide a daily connection between London and Casablanca.

Royal Air Maroc is using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft to operate the service, accommodating 16 passengers in business class and 141 in economy.

The route launch brings the total number of weekly links provided by the carrier between London and Morocco to 17, with travellers also able to catch flights to Marrakech and Tangiers from Heathrow.

Passengers also have the option of connecting to Royal Air Maroc's African network, which includes connections to Cairo, Tunis and Lagos.

Those who stay in Casablanca can explore one of Morocco's most popular coastal destinations or visit nearby attractions such as the Boulaouane vineyards.
