Mauritius 'offering excellent value for money'

Travellers visiting Mauritius in the near future will find that their money goes far in the island nation, according to a tourism industry spokesman.
Adam Hanmer, sales and marketing manager for the UK and Ireland at the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, encouraged travellers to just 'get out there and go', saying that the destination has 'never been better value'.
He pointed out that the low prices currently on offer are a result of companies working hard to attract visitors in a competitive market.
'This year has seen a bit of competition with people travelling long-haul and hotels have had to try and price themselves quite keenly so there have been some really good deals out there,' Mr Hanmer said.
Highlighting some of the experiences on offer to travellers in Mauritius, the industry spokesman said that watersports such as kite surfing and diving are popular.
He also claimed that the food is 'fantastic' and service on the island is 'world class'.
Several carriers operate flights to Mauritius, including Air France, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.
