Holidaymakers booking flights to Dubai can have an affordable trip despite the emirate's status as a premium destination.
This is according to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), whose UK and Ireland director Ian Scott said that the 'quality and service' Dubai offers will 'never be compromised'.
'We are talking a lot more about affordability because we know that people are being cautious about their spending and it is important to say to them, "you can go to Dubai and you don't have to break the bank whilst you're there",' he commented.
Mr Scott went on to say that, while the number of new developments in the emirate are beginning to slow down, the city's metro system will become fully open by March, and a number of new hotels are expected to open by the summer.
According to DTCM figures, more than 854,000 visitors from the UK and Ireland travelled to Dubai in 2008, which is a 14% increase on the previous year's total.
