9 Dec 2009

Flights to Dublin will prove popular with movie fans next year when the city hosts its premier event dedicated to cinema.

The next Jameson Dublin International Film Festival will take place between 18 and 28 February 2010.

On the first Monday of the festival, 22 February, the National Concert Hall will host a celebration of music by Nino Rota, the composer who created the scores for films such as The Godfather and La Dolce Vita.

While the full programme is yet to be confirmed, it has also been revealed that the festival will close with a showing of I Am Love.

Star Tilda Swinton and director Luca Guadagnino are both set to attend the screening.

Several other events will take place during the festival, including gala premieres, public interviews with movie stars, masterclasses, workshops and more.

People planning a trip to Dublin next year might also be interested in visiting in March when the city celebrates St Patrick's Day.
