Final resort opens at CityCenter complex in Las Vegas
23 Dec 2009
A month of high-profile launches and openings at the CityCenter complex in Las Vegas was capped off last week with a party to introduce the Aria Resort and Spa.
Aria is 'the jewel in the crown of CityCenter', according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Guests will be accommodated in 4,000 rooms and can enjoy live entertainment including Viva Elvis, the latest show from Cirque du Soleil, which is based in a specially designed theatre.
CityCenter has been gradually introduced to the world through a number of events this month, starting with the opening of the Vdara Hotel and Spa on 1 December.
The Mandarin Oriental also opened its doors, along with the Crystals Retail and Entertainment District, which is home to designer brands including Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton.
CityCenter was developed at a cost of around $8bn (£5bn) and covers an area of 67 acres, making it the biggest privately funded development in US history.
